Rise Up, O Men Of God
12/14/2007
1. Rise up, o men of God! Have done with lesser things.
Give heart and mind and soul and strength to serve the King of kings.
2. Rise up, o men of God! The Kingdom tarries long
Bring in the day of brotherhood and end the night of wrong.
CHORUS
Rise up, the Lord is calling; rise up, this is the day.
Rise up, and seize the moment; rise up, o men of faith!
Rise up, the Lord is calling; rise up, this is the day.
Rise up, and seize the moment; rise up, o men of faith!
3. Rise up, o men of God! The church for You doth wait,
Her strength unequal to her task; rise up, and make her great!
(Chorus)
Rise up . . . Rise up!
4. Lift high the cross of Christ! Tread where His feet have trod.
As brothers of the Son of Man, rise up, o men of God!
Rise up, the Lord is calling; rise up, this is the day.
Rise up, and seize the moment; rise up, o men of faith!
Rise up, the Lord is calling; rise up, this is the day.
Rise up, and seize the moment; rise up, o men of faith!
Rise up . . . Rise up . . . Rise up! . . . Rise up!

Hey Church! Wake up and hear, Body of Christ!
This old-time hymn speaks a calling which is relevant as never before. The church, myself I include in this, needs to begin walking in the Power of the Holy Spirit as in the Age which followed the Day of Pentecost. Especially you so-called baby boomers. Were you called by Christ our Lord to enjoy an easy time in Florida until you die, or does the King want us to shake the dust from our feet where the people don't respond and go to the many places where they have never heard? We can't just tithe our responsibility away. If we do, then our calling may be too easily filled by a what Jesus referred to as hirelings. The sheep he wants to bring in are far too precious for that kind of fate.
We must go into the fields, for they are white and ready to harvest.
