Donna, I'm not sure if it's an allusion to a specific biblical verse, but it means that the hearer knows that the calling from God is a true and good one.

wonder full song I sing this in my school and my headmaster even likes it.
Everytime i hearthis song it make me feel better the good way to pray God that is why i love this song so much i sing it in american church and in my house also everywhere . it sound great and all my family love to sing this song and something they sing it in creole.

I remember the 1st time I heard this hymn and we sang it. Now I understand why it is one of my Rev's favourite. This song asks you what Jesus asked of his disciples to do in the name of our father, such fitting words, 'will you come and follow me' Alot of hear but are not listening. Pray God touches each and everyone across the world rich, poor, sick, healthy, happy, sad and even you. Have a wonderful day in Jesus' name, AMEN!

This. Line is meant to be the response to other versus. The summons echo true, meaning all the things you said you summon me to kiss the lepar clean etc, they all ring true in me. When you but call my name I feel the truth ring through
